Three-wheel forklifts

A three-wheel forklift is a type of material handling equipment, a forklift designed for carrying out warehousing operations.

Just as is the case with other similar types of material handling equipment, the main task of the three-wheel forklift is carrying out the handling operations and stacking the goods. The maximum load capacity of this equipment can be up to 2 tons, and the maximum height to which the pallet forks raise is 3 meters. It should be noted that in this case one deals with one of the most compact forklifts which have an operator's seat equipped on the machine's chassis.

As it is apparent from its name, this equipment has three wheels: two of them are situated in front of the body as close to the lifting mechanism as possible, and one (or, more precisely, these are most often two paired wheels) – in the rear part. Moreover, the rear wheel is the drive wheel, and it can often rotate at an angle of up to 90 degrees, which adds to the extreme maneuverability of the vehicle. Apart from that, in the rear part of most models of three-wheel forklifts there is a counterweight.

High maneuverability and small size of the three-wheel forklifts make them indispensable for work in the conditions of restricted space of the warehouses. Operation indoors is also the reason for the choice of an electric motor as the power unit for these vehicles.
