NEW AND USED PLATE COMPACTORS: AT BARGAIN PRICES
A tamper plate is a type of road-building construction equipment, whose main purpose is to compact soil, sand, asphalt, gravel, paving slabs and other types of pavement on a limited area.
From the structural point of view, the tamper plate is a rectangular platform made of cast iron or steel with a vibratory mechanism (wobbler shaft). The mechanism may be actuated by a diesel or gasoline engine. The size of the plate is typically less than one meter wide and long, and the total weight of the most of such machines ranges between 50-200 kg (although there are some variations weighing as much as 400 kg).
Control of this mechanism is carried by the operator walking behind it, with the use of a special handle, which in some models can be foldable (this technical solution make the machine much easier in transportation). In the most general way, the tamper plates can be divided into two main types – unidirectional (forward motion) and bidirectional. In the first case, the effective compaction is carried out only when the tamper plates is moving forward relative to the operator, while the latter ones (which is clear from the name) may also act in the reverse direction.
It should also be noted that, depending on the type of paving being compacted, additional elements may be added to the tamper plate. For instance, when working with asphalt, there is a need for a water sprinkling system, which helps to avoid sticking of the hot material onto the working surface, and when laying paving slabs and paving stones, protective rubber or polyurethane mats are required.
Our website provides its clients with a wide range of offers for used tamper plates and spare parts to them from the world's leading manufacturers: Ammann, Weber, Dynapac, Wacker, Bomag, and others.
