used concrete equipment: types, characteristics and features
Concrete equipment is a type of construction equipment, a group of technical means for manufacturing, transportation, as well as pouring and laying concrete mixtures.
It is difficult to imagine a modern construction site which would dispense without using concrete. The group of concrete equipment includes several basic types. Most importantly, these are concrete plants, concrete mixers, concrete pumps and slipform pavers, which can be grouped in three main categories correspondent to different stages of work with concrete mixtures.
First, there is equipment designated for manufacturing the concrete mixtures. At this stage, cement, water and other required additives are mixed in special containers, and then the mixture is homogenized to the necessary degree. Although the main role is fulfilled by concrete plants, it should be noted that the concrete mixers also can perform these functions.
Secondly, there is concrete equipment, whose main task is to transport mixtures. This task is perfectly fulfilled by the concrete mixers on the basis of trucks, trailers or semi-trailers, which have special equipment, allowing to keep the desired consistency of concrete for a sufficiently long time.
The third group of concrete equipment includes concrete pumps and slipform pavers, whose primary purpose is to immediately deliver and pour the mixture in the process of construction.
